The Board and Staff of Greyhounds Australasia are deeply saddened by the passing of Jan Wilson AM.

Jan was a dedicated and inspirational leader of the greyhound racing industry, not only in Australia and New Zealand, but throughout the world.

She gave much to greyhound racing in her ten years as Chairman of Greyhounds Australasia and her tireless work was carried out with integrity, passion and total dedication. She repositioned the greyhound racing industry for the future with a strong commitment to animal welfare.

Jan provided strategic direction to the greyhound racing industry nationally and internationally, as Chairman of Greyhound Racing Victoria and the first female President of the World Greyhound Racing Federation.

Jan was a great woman who went beyond the call of duty for the good of greyhound racing, and she will be very sadly missed.

Condolences are extended to Jan’s son, Craig and the Wilson family.
